Migrant Housing Internet Connectivity Grant Program

Receive up to $1,000/migrant housing unit for:

  • Set up fees
  • Service payments
  • Purchase of devices such as hotspots, routers, modems and antennas

Benefits include:

  • Easier to communicate with farmworkers about illness outbreaks and emergencies
  • Farmworkers have immediate access to healthcare resources and health information such as telemedicine, which results in early detection, less exposure, and less missed time from work.
  • Farmworker access to English as a second language (ESL) classes and other educational opportunities
  • Farmworker ability to connect with family and friends decreasing feelings of isolation and loneliness

Eligible farms cannot have received funds from the previous Migrant Housing Internet Connectivity grant. Migrant housing must be in one of the following counties: Buncombe, Cherokee, Clay, Edgecombe, Franklin, Graham, Granville, Halifax, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon, Nash, Northampton, Swain, Transylvania, Vance, or Warren.
